As a palate cleanser, here’s a video from Archbishop Lori on religious freedom: “Religious liberty is also prior to the state itself. It is not a privilege that the government extends to its citizens and so may take away when it wishes. Instead religious liberty is inherent in our very humanity, put there by the Creator.”
